The rules of the board

shipboard.lol ranks projects by how steadily their builders ship. The same rules apply to everyone, and here they are.

1. Money buys a listing, never a rank. A paid listing puts your project on the board. No plan, price, or add-on reads or changes a score.
2. You must control the repo. To list a project, you install the shipboard.lol GitHub App on its repos and have admin rights on them. Nobody can list a repo they don't control.
3. One to three public repos per project. A repo belongs to one project at a time. Private repos aren't supported yet.
4. Scores come only from what we can observe. Commits on your default branch and releases, read from GitHub, filtered for bots, lockfiles, and generated code. The full formula is public and versioned.
5. Play fair. Commit floods, churn loops, and similar patterns are reviewed by a person. Any penalty shows up as a labeled line on the project's score breakdown, never as a hidden adjustment.
6. Keep your pitch clean. No slurs or harassment, no spam or contact details, and no links in the pitch (your project link has its own field). Text that breaks these rules can be hidden, and you can always write new text.
7. Unclaimed entries are labeled. Some projects are added from public GitHub data and marked "Unclaimed". Their maintainers can claim them or have them removed at any time.
8. Projects rest, and can come back. After 90 days without shipping, a project moves to the Graveyard, with an epitaph its owner writes. Shipping again revives it.
